You can tell me last year’s revenue. Can you tell me what your business is worth?

Most owners can’t, and it isn’t because they aren’t paying attention. Nobody has ever run the number for them. Your accountant knows last year’s profit. That’s a different number from what a buyer would pay.

On October 14, Andrew Lamb is walking through the Value Gap Assessment live. In one hour you’ll see two numbers. The first is what your business is worth today. The second is what it could be worth if you prepared it for sale. Then you’ll see the dollar figure sitting between them, and what closes it.

What Business Owners Potentially Lose Between Exit Intent and Readiness

Business owners often know they want to sell or transition their company someday, but waiting until they are ready to actually exit can create a significant gap between intent and readiness. A new article from Buy and Build Advisors takes a closer look at what that gap can potentially cost business owners.

The article, “The Business Exit Strategy Planning Gap: What Owners Lose Between Intent and Readiness,” explains three important areas owners should consider when preparing for a future business transition: the value gap, readiness gap, and timing gap. These areas can affect how prepared a company is when a buyer, lender, partner, or other outside circumstance creates a need to act.

One of the key points discussed is that business exit planning is not simply about deciding when you want to sell. Building transferable value can require time. Issues such as owner dependence, customer concentration, financial reporting, management depth, key-person retention, and business structure may take months or even years to address and document.

Buy and Build Advisors uses an illustrative example to show how completing readiness work alongside business growth can potentially create a substantially different enterprise value than focusing on growth alone. The larger takeaway is that exit planning is a process, not a last-minute checklist.

For business owners considering a sale, succession, acquisition, or other transition in the future, understanding the current value and readiness of the company can provide a clearer picture of what needs to happen next.

Could your business run without you for a month? Buy And Build Advisors wants to know!

Could your business run without you for a month?
Buy And Build Advisors wants to know!

Here’s a number that should scare more owners than it does: how many days could you be unreachable before the business started to wobble?

If it’s a small number, a buyer already knows, and they’ve priced it. Not because they doubt the earnings, but because they’re buying what runs after you leave. If too much of the company lives in your head, there’s less to actually buy.

A manufacturer we watched expected a five-times multiple. Then diligence found the founder held every key customer and priced every job by instinct. The buyer didn’t walk, they moved a big chunk of the price into a three-year earn out that only paid if he stayed and handed it all over. Good business. The dependence cost him millions in structure.

None of this gets fixed in the data room. It’s a year or two of deliberately handing things off, and the upside is a calmer business in the meantime.

Buy and Build Advisors on linktr.ee/buyandbuildadvisors

Business acquisition advisors helping buyers buy right, owners build better, and sellers sell smart through due diligence, strategy, valuation, and transition. https://linktr.ee/buyandbuildadvisors

Why We Add Clients Like Buy And Build Advisors on Linktr.ee

At G2web, we are always looking for ways to help our clients strengthen their online presence, improve visibility, and make it easier for potential customers and business contacts to find them. One of the tools we use as part of that strategy is Linktr.ee.

That is why we added Buy And Build Advisors to Linktr.ee at linktr.ee/buyandbuildadvisors.

What Is Linktr.ee?

Linktr.ee provides businesses and professionals with a simple way to organize important online links in one place. Instead of asking someone to search for a company across multiple platforms, a Linktr.ee profile can provide convenient access to a website, social media profiles, contact information, articles, and other important resources.

For a company such as Buy And Build Advisors, having a centralized online profile provides another opportunity to connect with business owners, buyers, sellers, investors, and other professionals.

Why G2web Adds Clients to Linktr.ee

Online visibility is about more than having a website. Your business should have multiple legitimate paths that lead people back to your brand.

At G2web, we look for opportunities to create and strengthen those connections. Adding a client to Linktr.ee gives that business another branded online presence and another place where people can discover important information.

For Buy And Build Advisors, the Linktr.ee profile can help visitors quickly find information about the company and navigate to its online resources.

Helping Buy And Build Advisors Build Online Visibility

Buy And Build Advisors is focused on helping business owners and entrepreneurs with the buying, building, and selling of businesses. That makes online credibility and accessibility particularly important.

When someone is researching business acquisition advisors, they may encounter a company through a website, social media, a search engine, a referral, or another online resource. The more consistent and connected those online profiles are, the easier it can be for someone to learn more about the company.

Linktr.ee becomes another piece of that overall online visibility strategy.

It Is About More Than One Link

We don’t add clients to platforms simply to collect links.

Our goal is to create a broader digital footprint for the businesses we work with. A strong online presence can include:

  • A professionally developed website
  • Social media profiles
  • Business directories
  • Industry-related websites
  • Linktree and other profile platforms
  • Articles and blog content
  • Videos and YouTube channels
  • Online networking opportunities
  • Branded profiles and business listings

Each legitimate platform can provide another opportunity for people to discover the business.

Why Buy And Build Advisors?

Buy And Build Advisors is a great example of the type of company we enjoy working with at G2web. Businesses involved in acquisitions, growth, business valuation, and transitions need to be easy to find when potential clients begin researching their options.

By creating and maintaining additional online profiles, we help reinforce the Buy And Build Advisors brand and provide another pathway for people to find the company.

You can now find Buy And Build Advisors on Linktr.ee at linktr.ee/buyandbuildadvisors.

G2web Helps Businesses Build Their Online Presence

At G2web, we believe online marketing works best when multiple pieces work together.

Websites, SEO, social media, online profiles, content, networking, and digital visibility all contribute to how a business is discovered and perceived online.

Adding Buy And Build Advisors to Linktr.ee is one more step in building that connected online presence.

If your business needs help improving its website, SEO, online visibility, or overall digital marketing strategy, G2web can help you identify opportunities to strengthen your presence and make it easier for potential customers to find you.

What is the difference between an asset sale and a stock sale? by Buy and Build Advisors

What is the difference between an asset sale and a stock sale?

An asset sale transfers specific assets out of a business. A stock sale transfers ownership of the business itself.

In an asset sale, the buyer picks what they want. Equipment, inventory, customer contracts, intellectual property, the brand, the goodwill. The seller keeps the legal entity and whatever the buyer did not agree to take. In a stock sale, the buyer purchases the owner’s equity, and the entity keeps running with its assets, contracts, and obligations intact. People also call this asset purchase vs stock purchase, which is the same decision seen from the buyer’s side of the table. One detail that trips owners up: if you run an LLC instead of a corporation, the stock-sale equivalent is a sale of membership interests. The label changes. The reason it matters does not.

Many transactions run into trouble even when the buyer and seller agree on the strategic logic of the deal. The issue is often not price alone. It is the gap between what each side assumes about the business, the process, leadership continuity, and what should happen after close. A strong M&A strategy accounts for those issues early, before they start to slow execution or weaken confidence.
